The driver of this HGV had a lucky escape after the vehicle lost control in icy conditions, left the road and collided with a tree.
Firefighter/Paramedics from Swords, Balbriggan and Phibsborough extricated the driver of a HGV after it slid off the road this morning.

Dublin Fire Brigade said the "steering wheel also pinned the driver to their seat".
A DFB spokesperson said: "Take extreme care on the roads, particularly shaded or untreated secondary roads."
Meanwhile motorists have been urged not to make unnecessary journeys on routes made more dangerous by the cold weather.

Wicklow Fire Service said it had to rescue a vehicle after it's occupants made an unnecessary journey on local mountain roads.
A spokesperson said: "The public are asked to avoid unnecessary trips in upland areas, motorists who have accidents can put themselves and emergency services at risk."
