KILDARE: Concern over the number of coffee shops in Naas

Naas

There  are concerns over the number of coffee shops in Naas.

Cllr Evie Sammon asked that Kildare County Council outline the number of granted planning applications (including change of use) relating to cafes and coffee shops in Naas in recent times.

Mayor Sammon told a Naas Municipal District meeting “I keep seeing them popping up; I hope it’s something that an eye can be kept on.”

According to Kildare County Council  a search of the planning system as  requested criteria from December 1 2021 shows no planning applications “that fall within this request.”

Cllr Bill Clear said that some time ago there were 72 places to buy coffees in Naas and this creates a lot of litter for the Naas Tidy Towns group.
