A charity CD has been released in aid of a Kildare-based hospital.
The St Vincent's Choir released the album on December 15 last at Athy Library, with all proceeds going towards the Resident's Comfort Fund at St Vincent's Hospital in Athy.
Musician Margaret Brennan told the Leinster Leader that the choir is made up of a mix of staff and residents, in addition to one volunteer.
The group was formed earlier this year, and have already sang at various venues, including the Bloom Festival.
Margaret also said: "As a musician, I have a lot of contacts, so when we came up with the idea of the CD, I began to look around, until eventually my good friend Paul Hickey agreed to help us."
She said that the recording process of the CD was split into two parts: one recording session took place in the studio at the back of Paul's home for the two solo singers of the group, while the other took place with the whole choir.
Margaret said that the latter session was done completely in one take, and was deeply touched by the words from one member after the take.
The member told her: "There are no words in me to describe how I felt (during the recording)."
Margaret further said that she is very proud of the record: "Is is the most magical recording that I have been a part of; it has really taken me aback.
"I have never enjoyed something more," she added.
The CD costs €10 and can be purchased at the St Michael's Parish Office in Athy, as well as at the Parish Office in Ballylinan.
