For those looking for great music and fun this bank holiday weekend there will be an impressive line up playing Upstairs @ JRB’s in Newbridge with Cork duo Fish Go Deep to headline the St Patrick’s Day festivities.
Legends in the house music scene, the DJ and production team, aka Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson have been paving the way for three decades.
A residency back in the early days at one of Ireland's most influential nightclubs, Sweat at Sir Henry's in their hometown of Cork established them as pioneers and trendsetters in the growing European dance music scene and was quickly followed by appearances throughout the U.K, Ireland, Canada, and the U.S.
The year 2000 welcomed the release of the ‘Flying Funk’ EP on New Jersey based label ‘i!’ - further expanding their international appeal. They went on to feature on numerous compilations from House Music’s most respected label’s and in 2007 the release of ‘The Cure and The Cause’ on Defected Records earned the track a huge nod from Billboard magazine who hailed it as ‘Track of the summer’ seeing Fish Go Deep take center stage in the electronic music world.
Not content with being DJ’s, Producers, promoters and label founders, Greg and Shane add ‘Broadcasters’ to their list of talents hosting their own shows on Cork based radio station Red FM. Support on the night comes from Kildare crew and EQUILIBRIUM EVENTS DJ’s – MISTRIX, JAMIE PONISI, and HAVANA GUDTIME.
