All over county Kildare today, people are celebrating the 12th year of National Pyjama Day.

Thousands of children headed out to school this morning in their sleepwear in aid of Irish Autism Action.

Kids and staff at Giggles Playschool in Newbridge (above) also got into the spirit of the day.

Patron of the event, Keith Duffy Duffy became involved with the charity when his daughter Mia was diagnosed with autism as a toddler and since then he has been a well-known supporter.

The aim of Irish Autism Action is to bring positive change into the lives of those affected by autism and to raise awareness of the condition.

Last year the event raised a whopping €300,000 for the charity.
