Kids go free at Family Fun Day at Curragh on Sunday

Save the date! The Keeneland Kids Zone will be one of the star attractions at the Keeneland-sponsored Family Race Day taking place at the Curragh on this Sunday afternoon.

The top class programme of seven races starting at 1.55pm features the prestigious Keeneland Phoenix Stakes, one of the top races in Europe for two year olds.

The race looks certain to attract a high class field to compete in the Group One contest over 6 furlongs.

Based in Kentucky, USA, Keeneland is the world’s most successful Thoroughbred Sales company and has sponsored the Phoenix Stakes since 2010.

Kids go free at the Curragh and there will be plenty of free entertainment for younger racegoers in the popular Keeneland Kids Zone.

Adult admission is just €15 euro while students and Seniors are only €10 euro. Under 18 accompanied by an adult are free.

Awesome August 

Sunday's action is part of the Awesome August programme at the Curragh which celebrates top class racing, fashion, food and great music.

Saturday, August 25 sees the Longines Irish Champions Weekend featuring the Comer Group International Irish St Leger Trial.

The following day, Sunday August 26 features the Galileo Futurity Stakes (Group 2) and Debutante Stakes (Group 2).

It is also Tipperary Crystal Rose race day featuring the first official engagement of the newly crowned Rose of Tralee.

The final racing action of Awesome August features the Summer Sounds live music event on Friday, August 31, following a 7-race card.

2FM DJ Bláthnaid Treacy will be picking the tunes to entertain racegoers.

There will also be complimentary transfers and admission to Studio One niteclub in Kildare Town afterwards.
