Kildare parents warned as popular toy is recalled by suppliers for choking hazard

Kildare parents are being advised to return a popular Irish Christmas toy, which has been recalled by suppliers following a design defect that could prove hazardous to children.
The ‘Lil Frog & Lil Frog Lily Pad’ were recalled due to a design defect with the batteries which could cause a safety issue if the battery cap is removed, possibly creating a choking hazard for small children and babies.
Airfield Estate issued a warning to parents after it handed out the toy to kids during their Christmas Experience. In a statement they said: "We have however been assured in writing by our Irish supplier through their UK distributor that the toys (and batteries) in question had been checked and no faults were detected. While this is useful to know we felt it was important to make you aware of the situation and as a precautionary measure, we would like to ask you to return the Lil Frog & Lil Frog Lily Pad without opening the battery cap to Airfield Estate and we will replace it with an alternative gift."
The toy that was handed out at the Christmas Experience can be recalled as follows:
- Drop in the Lil Frog & Lil Frog Lily Pad at your convenience to the ticket kiosk at Airfield Estate and pick up your replacement gift.
- Post the Lil Frog & Lil Frog Lily Pad back to Airfield Estate, Overend Way, Dundrum, Dublin 14 and we will then send you the replacement gift which will include your postage. Please remember to include your return address.
The estate is also offering all families that return the toy, a complimentary family pass to visit Airfield Estate in 2018, and replacement gifts are available from Thursday 21 December although there may be some delays in receiving the replacement toy due to a back-log of post as Christmas approaches.
