Kildare GAA: Athy take Reserve title in some style

Things got even better for senior football champions, Athy, as they added the Kildare Osprey Hotel & Spa Reserve Football 'A' final at Manguard Park, on Tuesday night.

Played on very slippery and wet conditions, it was Athy who led from the off before falling behind to an Eamonn Callaghan goal, however, the boys in red knuckled down and Conor Kelly, Kieran Farrell and Darroch Mulhall in top form led at the break by one, 0-8 to 1-4.

On the resumption Athy took control hitting seven points on the trot to lead 0-15 to 1-4 with some eight minutes remaining.

Naas did added a couple of points but there was no denying Athy as they tacked on points to win, somewhat comfortably, 0-17 to 1-6.
