Kildare success at Bar Of The Year Awards includes poignant award for late Kildare pub owner
A brilliant night for Kildare at the Bar Of The Year awards as three bars in the county we’re recognised for their excellence
Kildare’s hospitality scene has plenty to celebrate after three local establishments took home major awards at this year’s Bar of the Year Awards that took place in Dublin.
The awards saw a record breaking more than 1,000 entries submitted this year, making the achievements of Kildare’s winning pubs all the more impressive.
The Silken Thomas in Kildare Town was among the biggest winners of the night, taking home both the People’s Choice Leinster award and the coveted People’s Choice Overall title.
They took to Instagram celebrating the success, saying, “What a night, and what an incredible achievement for our fantastic team. This award is a reflection of the hard work, passion and dedication they bring to the Silken Thomas every single day.”
Meanwhile, The Dew Drop Inn and Brewhouse in Kill was recognised with a Gold award for Innovative Bar of the Year, adding another major win to Kildare’s growing list of hospitality successes.
The team was chuffed with their achievements, saying that they are “still buzzing after winning innovative bar of the year.”
There was also a particularly poignant moment for Kildare, with the ‘Gail Cotter Lifetime Achievement Award’ presented in memory of Vivian Carroll, the late owner of Judge Roy Beans in Newbridge, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
The team at Judge Roy Beans took to Instagram to express their appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a fitting recognition of his contribution over the years.
“A lovely touch from Bar of the Year Awards to recognise all of the boss’ hard work and efforts over the years.”
With more than 1,000 entries received for this year’s awards, Kildare’s wins highlight the strength and innovation of the county’s hospitality industry.
