TD for South Kildare, Fiona O’Loughlin is hosting a public meeting around supporting businesses in Kildare. Deputy Leader of the Fianna Fáil Party, Dara Calleary TD will be speaking at the meeting.
Speaking in advance of the meeting Deputy O’Loughlin said, “I am delighted that Dara has agreed to come to Kildare at short notice to engage with businesses around Kildare on issues directly impacting them. I look forward to listening to the issues and hopefully assisting with resolving those."
The Kildare South TD said, “The rising insurance costs for businesses are having a devastating impact on the competitiveness and profitability of SMEs in this country and in Kildare. Ireland is sliding down the competitiveness rankings and Brexit is hugely concerning for many businesses. Earlier this year Athy was hit with the news that Coca Cola were moving all its operations out of Kildare which will have an adverse effect on the employees, their families and the local community”.
"Day in day out, business owners and managers are crying out for action from the Government on the issue of rising business costs, rising motor insurance costs, and rising public liability costs yet nothing solid has been done. I am calling on all business owners or managers to come along to O’Rourkes Pub in Newbridge on Friday 21st September 2019 at 11am," concluded Deputy O'Loughlin.
