Kildare Co Council convened a meeting of its Severe Weather Assessment Team to discuss Met Eireann's nationwide Status Yellow Wind Warning for tomorrow.
The area of low pressure has been named Storm Erik by Met Eireann.
The Wind Warning is in place from 5am tomorrow [Friday] to 6am on Saturday.
Average speeds of 50 to 65 km/h are expected with gusts of 80 to 110 km/h across Kildare and nationally.
In addition, Status Orange Wind Warnings have been issued for Galway, Mayo and Donegal forecasting gusts of up to 130 km per hour.

Kildare County Council’s said its Severe Weather Assessment Team met this morning to "consider any impacts of the expected high winds.
"Response teams including roads, water, fire, civil defence were put on standby".
"Motorists are urged to exercise caution on all roads when driving.
"The Council request the public to check on vulnerable neighbours to ensure their safety."
