VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT THE KWWSPCA ANIMAL SHELTER
The KWWSPCA Animal Shelter near Athgarvan is very short of ‘core’ volunteers who are needed seven days a week on a rota basis to look after the dogs living there. This work involves feeding the dogs, cleaning the kennels and outside runs, socialising and walking the dogs, dealing with visitors and casual volunteers, and the general care of the dogs and of the Shelter. The KWWSPCA is looking for volunteers who would be able to commit to a regular half day or even a full day every week.
The hours for a half day are 8.30 to 1pm or 1-5.30pm for a half day and 8.30am – 5.30pm for a full day (with a bit of flexibility if needed)" said Sally of the KWWSPCA.
"We would normally have two ‘core’ volunteers on duty at any one time. You would need to be over 21 and have your own transport. Training would be given and you would get a lot of support from the other core volunteers who would be working with you.
"If you think you have the time and the commitment for such work, please call 087 680 3295 or email [email protected] for more information".
