BREAKING: Marathon election count to decide last seats in Newbridge tomorrow

A second recount will get underway at the count centre in Punchestown tomorrow morning to decide the outcome of the Newbridge area election.

Three candidates Tracey O'Dwyer, Peggy O'Dwyer, both Fine Gael, and Chris Pender (SD) are already elected while both Fianna Fail runners - Noel Heavey and Rob Power - look set to follow them.

The sixth seat is still up for grabs.

Returning officer Eoghan Ryan said a recount has taken place and a second recount has been has been requested by the candidate who finished behind in that recount.
