Naas General Hospital has said that it is experiencing a high number of patients visiting its Emergency Department and as such patients are experiencing long wait times to be seen.
The hospital has asked people with non-emergency conditions to seek help from other parts of the health service.
Naas General Hospital has advised people to avail of the range of pathways available for patients who do not have emergency cases. For those seeking help regarding common minor illnesses, they can visit their local pharmacy.
If people need to urgently see a GP outside of normal hours, they can contact their local GP Out of Hours service. In such cases, KDOC operates an appointment service for urgent medical needs.
These out of hours centres are located in Naas and Celbridge. Opening hours for these centres are Monday to Friday from 17:30pm to 8:00am. On weekends and Bank Holidays, they are open 24 hours a day.
If you are in need to avail of these services you can call 045 848 701 to book an appointment or go to www.kdoc.ie for more information.

In addition to this, an Injury Unit can treat a wide range of injuries such as broken bones, dislocations, sprains and strains, minor burns and scalds. All units have access to x-ray and basic diagnostic services. If you'd like more information on these units, you can visit www.hse.ie/injuryunits.

The Naas Hospital Injury Unit is open Monday to Sunday from 10am to 8pm. Services here are available to anyone aged 16 and over.

People who are seriously ill, injured or whose life is at risk are still advised to be treated at the hospital's Emergency Department.
