Newest Kildare public park opens officially on Friday

The official opening of Kildare's newest park amenity takes place on Friday.

It's a Kildare County Council project and the secretary general of the Department of Climate, Environment and Energy, Oonagh Buckley, Minister of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless TD and Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and the Marine, Martin Heydon TD,  along with the KCC cathaoirleach Kevin Duffy will attend the official opening of the new Kerdiffstown Park.

This project remediated the former Kerdiffstown Landfill into a 30-hectare multi-use public park.  

Using the latest proven land management practices and sustainable construction techniques, these works transformed the former landfill site into a fantastic public amenity to be used and enjoyed by locals and visitors alike, for generations to come.  

Kerdiffstown Park boasts an array of amenities, including two full-size all-weather sports pitches, three five a side pitches, several paths and walking trails, ecological areas, vast open green space, a playground, visitor car parks and age friendly seating.
