Call for urgent action on drivers breaking red lights in village in Kildare

Local Fianna Fáil Minister James Lawless TD and Councillor Carmel Kelly said are working with local Gardai to try a resolve a persistent problem of cars breaking the red lights located in the centre of Sallins in Kildare.

 Deputy Lawless said “I have received several representations from residents raising concerns of the persistent problem of traffic breaking these pedestrian lights.

"I have raised this problem with the Council along with Councillor Kelly.

"We have also meet with the local Gardai about this problem.”

He continued “As result of this the Gardai undertook a day of action at this location this week and we have been informed that six people were caught for traffic violations.

"The Garda have assured us that this will be something they will continuing over the coming weeks to try and alleviate this problem.

"Councillor Kelly is also working with Kildare County Council regarding the traffic signage in this area too.”
