Ardscoil na Tríonóide 0-7

Naas CBS are the Leinster Junior Football A champions after a huge win over Ardscoil na Tríonóide, Athy. The Naas school were fired to the title in large part by full-forward Rory Thompson. The Raheens man hit 4-2 in all the Kildare clash in an outrageous scoring display.

That now makes two major disappointments in the space of week for Ardscoil na Tríonóide, who are clearly an emerging force in school football, despite not getting over the line again here.

Ardscoil na Tríonóide led early with two points in as many minutes, but were pegged by Thompson’s first goal and Naas’ second green flag just three minutes after that.

The eventual winners never looked back and re-established themselves as the major player at this level of Kildare football.

Naas CBS, Rory Thompson 4-2 (1-0 penalty, 0-2 frees), Oisin McAfee 1-1, Max Sargent 0-2, Hugh Kelly 0-2, Fionn Stewart Byrne 0-1.

Ardscoil na Tríonóide, Sean Rowan 0-7 (0-7 frees).
