Gardaí swoop as Kildare teenager found with €500,000 worth of lethal drugs
An 18-year-old man has been arrested after the discovery of drugs in Newbridge, Co Kildare.
As part of an intelligence-led operation on Monday, Revenue officers seized 10.19kgs of the drug 4Methyl methcathinone HCL (M-Cat) with an estimated value of approximately €500,000 (subject to analysis) in Newbridge.
Gardaí later arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the discovery. He is currently detained at a Garda Station in Co. Kildare under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
"This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Newbridge Drugs and Crime Unit," a Revenue statement said.

Investigations are ongoing.
"This seizure is part of Revenue’s joint operations targeting the supply and sale drugs. If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding the smuggling or sale of drugs, they can contact Revenue in confidence on 1800 295 295."
