Works are finally set to commence on Mill Street, Maynooth, Co Kildare following an announcement that Glas Civil Engineering has been awarded the Mill Street Active Travel contract.

The project includes a comprehensive upgrade of Mill Street, spanning from the Leinster Street/Main Street junction to the Kilcock Road/Moyglare Road junction.

The enhancements will feature improved pedestrian and cycle facilities on both sides of the street, upgraded pedestrian crossings, enhanced bus stop facilities, and a new pedestrian footbridge on the west side of the street adjacent to the existing bridge over the River Lyreen.

The project is to be progressed in multiple phases over a 12-month period.

Initial works will commence on the eastern side of Mill Street (between the Lyreen Bridge and Main Street junction during week commencing February 17 2025.

While full traffic movements will be maintained, temporary traffic and pedestrian management measures will be implemented to facilitate the works.
