A daily bus service between some Co Kildare towns and Dublin Airport has ceased due to financial difficulties, the operator has confirmed.
The daily Airport Hopper shuttle service to and from Dublin Airport had 13 stops including Maynooth, Leixlip, Lucan and Liffey Valley.
The second Airport Hopper service started in Tallaght and stopped at Clondalkin and Liffey Valley en route to Dublin Airport.
Operators, Airport Hopper Holdings Ltd told RTÉ News it had to "pause operations" from February 10, due to the service being "financially unsustainable for a long period of time with passenger numbers on the routes not being sufficient to make the service viable".
The company said it had "tried everything in its power to make the service viable, including cutting fares to increase numbers, but that "in an environment of spiralling costs including fuelling, tolls, insurance and airport charges," it took the decision to stop the service.
Airport Hopper said all staff have been notified directly, and that its website is not accepting any new bookings and has not been doing so since 9 February.
It added that any customers that have booked will be refunded.
The Airport Hopper services operated under Route Licenses issued by the National Transport Authority.
Under the terms and conditions of the licenses, buses were not permitted to carry any passengers who were not travelling to, or from Dublin Airport.
