Kildare 2-7

Meath 1-4

Kildare managed conditions best to beat previous table-toppers Meath in their re-scheduled Lidl Ladies National Football League Division 1 clash. However, to solely attribute victory to the heavy wind and rain would be to undersell an excellent performance from the ladies in white.

The Lilies led 0-6 to 1-1 after an excellent, if not wasteful, first half display. Goals from Ruth Sargent and Alannah Prizeman in the 10 or so minutes after the restart were crucial as Kildare came flying out of the blocks.

It was also a hugely impressive defensive performance from Pat Sullivan's side, who looked stern and unwavering throughout.

The win is Kildare's second of this campaign and second over Leinster opposition after victory over Dublin earlier in the year.
