€205,000 cost to resurface a section of road in a Kildare estate

The cost of resurfacing a road in a residential area in Sallins is €205,000.

Cllr Bill Clear told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting that the rear road in St Bridget’s Terrace needs to be resurfaced and he pointed out that some people living there “can only come out of the back of the house.”

He said the cost is very high and some residents are “housebound in their wheelchairs.”

According to Kildare County Council the expected  €205,000 bill includes the installation of a new surface water drainage system for the full length of road works.

And this needs to be done because the existing drainage system at the estate  is a  combined drainage system (where wastewater and storm water flow through the same pipes.)
