Kildare Fianna Fáil Minister James Lawless TD has welcomed the news that 30 additional school places have been offered in St Wolstan’s Community School to incoming first years for September 2025 next.

Minister Lawless said: “I received several representations from families who were unsuccessful in their application for a first-year place in St. Wolstan’s Community School. This frustration arises from expectations that places would be available as has been the case traditionally. I contacted both the Department of Education and the school regarding these concerns.

“The announcement that St Wolstan’s is facilitating an increase of thirty students to bring numbers back up to a 150-student intake for first years is very positive for the families waiting for their place in the school.

“I will continue to work with St Wolstan’s Community School and the Department of Education regarding securing the required resources for the school.”
