Kildare Gardaí issue serious warning after 14 drivers arrested

Over the past six days, Kildare Gardaí said they arrested 14 motorists for Driving under the influence of Alcohol and Drugs.
Gardaí carry out roadside breath testing for alcohol levels and saliva testing for drugs. It is an offence to refuse to be tested.

If you are convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you will be automatically fined and disqualified from driving for a set period of time.

Repeated or serious breaches may result in you being sentenced to prison.

Kildare Gardaí said: "Alcohol and Drugs affects your ability to drive - you are much more at risk of being involved in an accident.
"Drink and drugs slow reaction times, coordination, concentration, judgement and vision.
"The more in your system, the more it affects your ability to drive.
"If you plan to drive, do not drink and never consume drugs."
