Gardai are urging homeowners not to leave car keys or other valuables on tables inside their front doors
Kildare County Council has launched an affordable housing purchase scheme for private buyers at Hereford Park, Leixlip. The scheme, which consists of 16 new homes, (2- and 3-bedroom dwellings) being sold in partnership with Glenveagh Properties, aims to provide first-time buyers and other eligible homebuyers the opportunity to buy a newly built home in a private development.
Hereford Park is conveniently located minutes from Leixlip and its local amenities, with easy access to the M4 and transport links to Dublin city centre. The homes will incorporate sustainable and renewable technology and will be finished to the highest standard. They are expected to be complete by summer 2025.
The Affordable Housing Purchase Scheme aims to support people to buy new homes at reduced prices. The online application for interested buyers opened for applications at 9:00am on March 4 and will remain open until 5:30pm on March 27.
Welcoming the launch of the scheme Annette Aspell, Director of Services, Kildare County Council said: “Kildare County Council is delighted to reach this important milestone, in what will be the first affordable housing purchase scheme in the Celbridge/Leixlip Municipal District, providing much needed homes that are being offered at affordable prices for potential home buyers. Kildare County Council’s aim, under the affordable housing scheme is to provide vital support for home buyers.”
The Scheme is aimed at first-time buyers, with some exceptions. Eligible applicants looking to buy a home in Kildare are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the application process and documentation, available at kildarecoco.ie/allservices/housing/affordablehousing.
Stephen Garvey, CEO, Glenveagh commented: “We are pleased to be working with Kildare County Council to deliver these high-quality, sustainable homes as part of the Hereford Park community. It is a strong example of how collaboration between the public and private sectors can deliver much-needed housing.”
