Local Fianna Fáil Minister James Lawless TD has held a meeting with the Minister of the Office of Public Works Kevin “Boxer” Moran recently to specifically raise his concerns on the current situation in relation to Castletown House in Celbridge, Co Kildare.

Minister Lawless said: “I had a very positive meeting with Minister for OPW Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran last week in government buildings. We discussed the ongoing and unacceptable impasse at Castletown House.

“I stressed the need to reopen access for the public and groups, maintain the house and grounds, enable staff access and essential services while protecting pedestrian access on Lime Avenue, and bring the whole sorry saga to a close.

The Minister concluded: “I am confident that Minister Moran grasps the issue and will now move forward on it with urgency.”
