Kildare people put at risk as vital safety equipment is stolen

Members of the public urged to come forward with information

Gardaí in Athy are appealing for information after two life buoys were stolen in South Kildare last weekend. 

The safety equipment was taken from Barrow Quay area neear Athy Courthouse. 

Gardaí have urged with any information on the theft to come forward.  

Life buoys are in place across Co Kildare - at rivers, canals, and lakes - providing a safe way for people to conduct a rescue without entering the water.

It is criminal offence to tamper with or steal ring buoys.
