'Beautiful, kind and gentle' -  Sadness in Kildare following sudden death of popular woman

Tributes have poured in following the sad death of Adrienne Conlon (née Matthews), late of Celbridge, Co. Kildare, formerly of Nephin Road, Dublin and late of the Dept. of Social Protection.

Adrienne passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, suddenly at home with her loving family.

She will be very sadly missed by her loving husband Denis, sons John and Ronan, daughter Sarah, sisters Barbara and Marita, brother Terence, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Adrienne, with one mourner writing,

"Our Deepest sympathy to Denis, Sarah, John & Ronan on the passing of Adrienne a much loved wife, mother and friend. Adrienne was a beautiful, kind, gentle person, loved by everyone who knew her. May her gentle soul rest in the arms of the Lord forever."

Another wrote,

"Sincere condolences to Denis, John, Sarah and Ronan on the sudden loss of Adrienne. It was a pleasure working and socialising with her. She was always a lady. May she rest in peace."

While another wrote,

"Denis John Sarah & Ronan. I am sad and sorry to hear of the passing of Adrienne. She was such a lovely lady. I had the pleasure of working with Adrienne and enjoyed many a good night out in her company. Rest in peace Adrienne. You will be truly missed x."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Celbridge today, Wednesday evening. between 5 pm and 7 pm. Removal on Thursday afternoon to St. Patrick’s Church, Celbridge arriving for Funeral Mass at 12:30pm followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium.
