Planning permission to allow for the construction of two apartment blocks, in addition to demolition works, is being sought by two men for an area in Kildare town.
A planning application currently with Kildare County Council (KCC) shows that applicants John and Seamus McCormack and Lowry intend to make the changes to a site located on the Dublin Road in Kildare town.
The description of the application shows that the applicants are seeking planning permission from KCC for "the partial demolition of the rear element of the existing two-storey commercial premises (addressing the Dublin Road), along with the demolition of the existing industrial style units on site, to the rear of the original commercial unit addressing Dublin Road".
Following this, the applicants intend to construct two blocks of apartments: Block A would consist of a three-storey building and partial two-storey with attic space, consisting of 10 apartments (eight one-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom apartments).
As for Block B, this development would consist of a two-storey building attached to the original commercial unit on site (to remain on site addressing the Dublin Road) and will provide a total of five apartments (four two-bedroom units and one one-bedroom unit).
Lastly, permission is also being sought for: a covered car parking area; a covered bike area; a bin area; an internal access road; connection to public foul sewer and watermain; soakholes; landscaping; and all associated site works.
The date received on the application is listed as March 26 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as April 29 and May 20 respectively.
