Meet Trish McDermott

For Trish McDermott, style has always been more than just clothing — it’s a story, a transformation, a return to confidence.
Her journey into fashion began at an early age, guided by the skilled hands of her grandmother, a talented seamstress who first showed her how to sew.

Thanks to this early influence, Trish had an eye for fashion long before she fully appreciated it — wearing trendsetting pieces like a shearling-style coat at just ten years old. By her teenage years, she was already immersed in the industry, spending her summers working at Wallis in the original Brown Thomas store.

There, she was offered an opportunity to become a fashion buyer — a path she didn’t take at the time, something she now chalks up to youthful uncertainty.

But passion has a way of waiting for the right moment.

With her two children grown and forging their own careers, Trish finally had the time to pursue what had always called to her: helping women rediscover their confidence through personal style.

Over the years, she had witnessed countless women struggle with fashion — whether due to motherhood, shifting self-esteem, or the bodily changes that come with different life stages. She knew that for many, stepping into a changing room was an experience filled with dread rather than delight.

For Trish, image consulting isn’t just about clothes — it’s about empowerment. She sees her role as helping women step out from behind that dreaded curtain with a renewed sense of self, offering a fresh perspective and a wardrobe that reflects their confidence.

“Every time we find the perfect look together, I get goosebumps,” she says.

And like sending her own children off into the world, she sends each client away smiling — her business card tucked in their hands for whenever they need another style reset.

Now the lead stylist at Whitewater Shopping Centre and consulting at various Dublin shopping destinations, Trish offers a range of services tailored to each client’s needs — from a full wardrobe audit to the quest for the perfect pair of jeans.
Her process begins with a 30-minute consultation, where she takes the time to understand each client’s lifestyle, preferences, and concerns.

Skincare, makeup, and hair are all part of the conversation, ensuring a holistic approach to personal style. From there, she curates a selection of clothing, footwear, and accessories that complement the client’s unique look.

After hours of careful preparation, she embarks on a two-hour styling session, watching as hesitation is replaced with newfound confidence. A lover of timeless yet accessible fashion, Trish gravitates toward brands like H&M, COS, Zara, Autograph at M&S, Massimo Dutti, Mint Velvet, and more recently, the curated designer selections at Harvey Nichols.
Now, she’s expanding her expertise beyond one-on-one styling.

Trish is launching The Style Strategists, a series of masterclasses designed for the corporate sector, bringing her insights into professional image and confidence-building to a wider audience.
