There are over 500 bus stop locations in Kildare

A  bus shelter should be provided at the bus stop on the main route near Sallins Park, Sallins, and local councillor Carmel Kelly asked if this would happen soon.

According to Kildare County Council there are over 500 existing bus stop locations in County Kildare and KCC “is working with the National Transport Authority (NTA) to review and prioritise improvements to bus stop infrastructure.”

When this is done a list of potential bus shelters and “other improvements for locations will be prepared and appropriate public consultation undertaken.”

Cllr Fintan Brett said a basic shelter without any technology would be provided quickly for between €2,000-3,000 and that is all that’s needed.

KCC official Mark McLoughlin told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting that the review will be completed by the end of September.
