Tributes were paid to a garda officer during a court sitting in Naas.
Inspector Corman Ryan, aged in his early 50s, had been attached to the Naas station and lived in Ballymore Eustace.

Solicitor David Powderly led the tributes at Naas District Court, describing Insp Ryan as a principled and respectful man and a very professional member of an Garda Siochana.
Extending his sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of the garda, he said he was doing so on behalf of local solicitors who work in the court system .
Inspector Jeanette Butler described him as a well respected colleague , who will be missed by all of his colleagues as well as family and friends.
Barrister Aisling Murphy said it was an honour and a privilege to know Insp Ryan.
“He was a kind and fair man," added Ms Murphy.
Judge Desmond Zaidan also extended his sympathy to all who knew the garda and curtailed a scheduled court sitting as a mark of respect.
Inspector Ryan passed away peacefully at Beaumont Hospital on April 18.
He is survived by his wife Kim, father Paddy, mother Máirín, brother Barry, sister Fiona, father-in-law Michael, mother-in-law Margaret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
His funeral took place to Newlands Cross Crematorium on April 24 following requiem mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballymore Eustace.
