A sizeable extension is being planned for a well-known North Kildare hotel.

A planning permission application currently with Kildare County Council (KCC) shows that Kildare Hotel Opportunities Limited is seeking to construct the extension on the lands of The Club at Goffs, Greenhills, Kill, Naas, County Kildare.

The description within the application explains that the company wishes to construct "a two-storey 25 bedroom hotel extension, with office and laundry stores, along with a single-storey extension to expand the reception area, with three meeting rooms, an office and toilets, and construction of a single storey stand-alone spa area with sauna, steam room, pool, treatment rooms, changing and relaxation rooms, lounge and plant room."

The hotel extension will also include the provision of:

  • Bedroom balconies to the south-east and north-west elevations
  • Landscaped areas
  • Fire tender access route
  • 30 additional carparking spaces
  • Bicycle parking and operational vehicle parking area with deliveries yard and associated site development works.

Furthermore, the description in the application notes: "Access to the proposed development is provided by the existing access road serving the site off the adjoining public road.

"The planning application includes an Appropriate Assessment Screening Report, Biodiversity Statement and Arboricultural Impact Assessment Report."

The date received is listed as April 28 last.

The submission-by and due dates are listed as June 1 and June 22 respectively.

According to the business information website SoloCheck.ie, Kildare Hotel Opportunities Ltd was established in 2019 and also trades as "Club Hotel", "The Club Hotel at Goffs" and "The Club At Goffs".

It has a registered address listed as Bca Clonminch Hi-Technology Park, Tullamore, County Offaly.
