Members of An Garda Síochána (AGS) based in Kildare town are investigating three separate incidents involving the unlawful entry or attempted unlawful entry of vehicles.

Garda David Prendergast of Naas Garda Station outlined the incidents when he appeared on a KFM radio programme earlier this morning (May 14).

According to Gda Prendergast, the first crime took place between 10.45pm on Wednesday, May 7 last and 8.30am on Thursday, May 8 last on the Melitta Road, and involved the unlawful entry of a vehicle.

No items were taken by the perpetrator(s).

The second incident took place on Thursday, May 8 last at around 5am in the Campion Crescent estate, where a person — described as "possibly being female" by Gda Prendergast — was observed attempting to make unlawful entry into a car.

However, the perpetrator was unsuccessful.

The third and final incident took place at around 2.20am on Saturday, May 10 last in the Curragh Finn region, where two males were seen attempting to make unlawful entry into a vehicle.

Once again, these perpetrators were unsuccessful in their attempt.

Gda Prendergast added that anyone with information about any of these crimes can contact Kildare town Garda Station on 045 527 730.

INVESTIGATIONS ARE ONGOING

The Leinster Leader also asked AGS about all three aforementioned incidents.

Regarding the first incident, a spokesperson for AGS said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of theft from a vehicle that occurred between May 7 and May 8, 2025 in Kildare town.

"No items are believed to have been taken at this time.

"Investigations are ongoing."

For the second incident, the same spokesperson said that AGS was currently unable to find a report matching the Leader's query.

Lastly, regarding the third and final incident, the same spokesperson had this to say: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of theft from a vehicle that occurred on May 10, 2025 at approximately 2am in Kildare town.

"No items are believed to have been taken at this time."

The spokesperson concluded by saying that "investigations are ongoing" at present.
