Gardaí have launched an investigation after a car was stolen overnight from a North Kildare estate.
The incident was discussed by Garda David Prendergast of Naas Garda Station when he appeared on a KFM programme on Wednesday, May 14 last.
He explained that the incident took place sometime between 5.30pm on Sunday, May 11 last and 7.30am on Monday, May 12 last. The car in question, a Grey Honda Stream, was parked in The Oaks estate within Barnhall Meadows, Leixlip.
Gda Prendergast also outlined the registration plate of the stolen car: 07-D-122787.
In addition, Gda Prendergast said that the attempted unlawful entry of a separate vehicle was reported in a nearby estate within Barnhall Meadows on the same night.
He concluded by urging anyone with information about these crimes to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí are investigating an unauthorised taking of a car that occurred in Leixlip, County Kildare between May 11 and May 12, 2025.
"No arrests have been made at this time."
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson added.
