Leixlip Amenities Centre, Station Road, Leixlip, Co Kildare is to undergo a €2.5m transformation and extension, thanks to planning permission just granted to promoter Leixlip Amenities Group.
Planning permission for the development was issued on May 21 2025, according to Construction Information Services (CIS.)
The project involves the demolition of the existing single-storey changing rooms and main entrance area to the north and west of the building.
This will allow for the construction of new two-storey extension to the north, west and southern elevations of the existing building to provide a new entrance/reception with cafe; new ground floor toilets, studio rooms, new changing and shower facilities and an extension to the existing gym area.
The new first floor area will provide additional gym studio rooms, offices and storage. The façade of the existing hall is to be overclad including elevational change. All associated demolition, internal alterations, site landscaping and ancillary works are included.
The floorspace of the proposed works is circa 2,082sqm.
The architect overseeing the project is Gray Design Architecture.
