Relay for Life at The Curragh Racecourse
Communities across County Kildare will come together for a powerful and emotional 24-hour event on June 7–8, 2025, as Relay for Life Kildare takes place at the iconic Curragh Racecourse.
The event will raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society and celebrate those affected by cancer while remembering loved ones lost to the disease.
Relay for Life is a global movement in which teams of family members, friends, schools, and workplaces walk in solidarity through the night, taking turns on a relay track to symbolise the ongoing fight against cancer.
This year’s Kildare event promises to be bigger and more meaningful than ever, with live music, children’s entertainment, survivor and carer ceremonies, and a stunning Candle of Hope ceremony as darkness falls.

“This is a deeply emotional and uplifting community event,” said Peter Whyte, Chairperson of Relay for Life Kildare. “It’s about celebrating survivors, supporting those currently battling cancer, and remembering those we’ve lost – all while raising funds to support the Irish Cancer Society’s life-saving work.”
Relay for Life is also a day of celebration and hope, with local performers, guest speakers, food vendors, and a family-friendly atmosphere throughout.
Survivors are especially invited to join the Survivor Lap to open the event and are welcomed as the guests of honour throughout the weekend.
All are welcome to attend or participate – whether by forming a team, sponsoring a walker, volunteering, or simply coming along to show support.
Every step taken brings hope to those affected by cancer.
