Two attempted burglaries which occurred in quick succession are being investigated by Kildare gardaí.
The incidents were highlighted on a KFM radio programme on the morning of Wednesday, May 28 last and featured Garda Jonathan Bryan of Kilcullen Garda Station as a guest.
He explained that the two crimes took place between 4.20am and 4.30am on May 24 last in The Orchard, Oldtown Mill region of Celbridge.
Regarding the first incident, he said that a person living at a property in the area noticed that their front door was left open.
He added that no criminal damage occurred to the door and that gardaí have obtained CCTV for review in relation this incident.
For the second incident, Gda Bryan said that a white Audi A3 Hatchback car was observed just outside of a separate property located in the same region.
He went on to say that there were two male suspects involved in this incident, and that while they briefly gained entry to the house, they fled the scene after observing the occupant(s) of the property.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the first crime, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received a report of an attempted burglary at a residential property in The Orchard Oldtown Mill Celbridge County Kildare, at approximately 4.30am on Saturday, May 24, 2025."
They added that investigations are ongoing at present.
For the second incident, the same garda spokesperson told the Leader: "Gardaí received report of a burglary that occurred at a residential property in Celbridge, County Kildare at approximately 4.24am on Saturday, May 24, 2025."
