Kildare Community Games goes down a storm

Medal winners in the Girls u-8 80m, Sofia Ó Bróin, Molly Murphy, Robyn Higgins, Elle Woods, at Kildare Community Games Track & Field Finals 2025,Tuesday May 27, at Celbridge AC grounds

The sun failed to shine but the showers failed to dampen the spirit and determination of Kildare’s young athletes as they participated in the County’s Community Games Finals of 2025 hosted by Celbridge Athletic Club. The track was immaculately laid out as up to 500 children aged 6 to 15 were cheered by their supporters as they competed for a place in the Cairn Community Games National Finals in over 40 events. Many of the contestants were renewing old rivalries while some were experiencing the occasion for the first time.

The Gold Medallist in the Track, Field and Relay events along with the Silver Medallist in field events qualify for the Cairn Community Games National Finals which take place in Carlow IT on August 24 and 25

The second and third in the Track events qualify for the Regional Finals in Clonmel on August 9 where the first three will then qualify for National Finals a fortnight later
