Local Fianna Fáil Minister James Lawless TD and Cllr Carmel Kelly are continuing their work with local Gardai and Kildare County Council to try to resolve a problem of persistent driver speeding on the L2019 at Rathgorragh.
Minister Lawless said: “I have raised this problem with the council along with Cllr Kelly who has raised this issue on several occasions at council meetings. Cllr Kelly has now secured funding to improve traffic calming measures on this section of road which is positive news and very much needed to tackle speeding in the area.
“The particular problem is on the L2019 Arthurstown to Beggars End Crossroads and we are also working with the Naas Roads Policing unit who again confirmed with us that they are stepping up patrols in the area following on from recent speed checks on the road which led to a number of fixed penalty notices being issued in the area.”
