Local Fianna Fail Minister James Lawless TD has welcomed the announcement today from the Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary, T.D., and the Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development, Jerry Buttimer, T.D of the successful projects in Kildare receiving funding under the Local Enhancement Programme 2025.
Minister Lawless stated: “The Local Enhancement Programme 2025 was launched in November 2024 with funding of €7 million available, which included €1 million in current funding to support local groups with ongoing running costs.
“The key function of these grants awarded under The Local Enhancement Programme is to provide financial assistance and a helping hand to local clubs, organisations and groups throughout the country who play a pivotal role in our community life. Our Local Development Committees assisted by our County Councils administer this fund and this work is invaluable to Irish community life.
“Over 5,000 projects have been approved across the country. With over 75 community projects approved in Kildare there is a large number of people these grants will benefit going forward”.
