A family resource centre located in County Kildare is seeking planning permission from Kildare County Council (KCC) for a new community space.
The Newbridge Family Resource Centre (NFRC) intends to construct the new space on its premises, which is located in the Dara Park region of Newbridge, a planning permission application currently with KCC shows.
According to the description of this application, the NFRC wants to provide a shed for use "as a community space for a men’s shed ancillary to existing services at Newbridge Family Resource Centre."
In addition, the NFRC is seeking permission for "all associated site development and facilitating works".
The date received on the application is listed as June 9 last.
The submission-by and due dates are listed as July 13, 2025 and August 3, 2025 respectively.
The NFRC made headlines three weeks ago when it received €500,000 in funding.
The centre said at the time that the funding will help it to "support families, empower communities, and provide critical services where they are needed most".
