A call has been made for a bin to be provided in Johnstown, near Naas.

Naas mayor Fintan Brett said the bin is needed to replace the one which existed at the Centra store in the village.

As previously reported, the Centra shop in Johnstown has shut.

Proprietor Alan Jordan said the store is not fit for purpose because it is not big enough to meet the shopping needs of an area which has seen significant population growth in recent years.
