Barretstown children's charity in Ballymore Eustace, Kildare, has been granted planning permission to construct an "activity pavilion" on-site at Barretstown Castle.
A decision to grant planning permission was issued by Kildare County Council on 05/06/2025 to Barretstown Gang Camp Fund Limited for the project.

A planning application was submitted to Kildare County Council on 27/01/2025 by Barretstown for the demolition of an existing archery shed (187.34 sq.m gfa) and mini golf area (572.84 sq.m gfa) and the construction of a new single storey activity pavilion (700.07 sq.m gfa) and outdoor plant room (14.80 sq.m gfa), landscaping and ancillary site works.
The proposed development is within the curtilage of Barretstown House, which is a protected structure: RPS b24-27, and Barretstown Castle, a recorded monument: KB024-029.
The architect overseeing the project is McCauley Daye O'Connell Architects.
