One of Kildare's best Tidy Towns performers needs more money

More money should be provided by Kildare County Council to support the work of the Tidy Towns group in Naas.

Independent councillor Seamie Moore told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting that the €14,000 worth of assistance proposed by KCC is "going nowhere.”

He claimed that Sallins, which has a much smaller population, is in line to get €10,000.

Naas, said Cllr Moore, has a good chance of winning the overall Tidy Towns competition award and the town had garnered multiple accolades in the annual competition.

According to KCC the method of allocation will be taken up with the Department of the environment.
