The upgrading of footpaths and pedestrian crossings is due to take place soon in one County Kildare region.

Kildare County Council (KCC) explained: "KCC wishes to inform the public that works will commence on the Scoil Bhríde, Straffan, Safe Routes to School Scheme during the week of June 30, 2025.

"The scheme includes the upgrade of footpaths and pedestrian crossings in the area to enhance the safety for vulnerable road users.

"It is expected that the works will continue throughout the months of July and August, however local access will be accommodated at all times."

KCC added that it wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the upgrade works.
