Concern has been expressed about a potential pollution incident in a Kildare village.

Naas Mayor Fintan Brett wants Kildare County Council to engage with Uisce Eireann, formerly Irish Water.

He wants "to remedy the serious health and safety issue in Kill village."

Cllr Brett claims an overflow manhole located adjacent the Kill River "allows untreated sewage to flow directly into the river."
