A criminal damage by fire incident which occurred in Sallins has led to a County Kildare garda investigation.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí responded to an incident of criminal damage by fire that occurred at a residence in Sallins, County Kildare at approximately 1am on July 2, 2025.
"No injuries were reported."
The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing."
In addition, KFM reported in its coverage of the event: "No injuries were reported, but KFM understands that a pet dog died in the blaze."
The Leader emailed the Acting Chief Fire Officer with Kildare County Council to confirm if this was the case, but did not receive a response in time for the publication of this article.
