Brand-new electric vehicle (EV) charging units and bays have been proposed for one County Kildare retail park.

A planning permission application that is currently Kildare County Council, the new EV units and bays are being sought by ESB Innovation ROI Limited for the car park of the Globe Retail Park, Monread Road, Naas.

The applicant specifically plans to install "a compact modular substation and ancillary site development works."

This would be implemented in order to facilitate: "three shared EV charging units and six charging bays; ancillary site works within a partially reconfigured parking area; and the installation of signage".

The date received is listed as July 11 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as August 14, 2025 and September 4, 2025 respectively.

According to the business information website SoloCheck.ie, ESB Innovation ROI Ltd was established back in 2017.

It has an address listed as 27 Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin 2, County Dublin (D02 KT92).
