Kildare County Council to meet with school principals over Safe Routes to School (SRTS)

Kildare County Council has been asked how it has spent or intends to spend funding allocated to the council under the Safe Routes To School scheme (SRTS).

According to Cathaoirleach, Cllr Noel Heavey (FF), who tabled a question at the July meeting of Kildare Newbridge Municipal District, a sum of €100,000 was allocated to Kildare County Council from national funds under the Safe Routes to School scheme (SRTS).

The funding was in relation to schemes for St Conleth's and Mary's NS, Newbridge.

Cllr Heavey further sought a timeline for works to be carried out.

Kildare County Council's response stated that a “draft Outline Delivery Plan” has been prepared by An Taisce Green Schools for the schools.

Kildare County Council is to meet with the principals in quarter three 2025 to discuss the proposals.
